The Foundation runs a foster home for homeless baby girls. These girls are referred to the Foundation by the Ministry of Social Affairs and all of them have legal birth certificates.
The Foundation fosters girls at the age of 3 months or older providing them with full boarding accommodations. They are brought up, educated and receive medical and social care until they get married.

Foster Mothers
The Foundation is keen on creating a home-like atmosphere for foster girls. Well-educated and caring female individuals who have demonstrated love for children and willingness to care for them are employed to act as foster mothers. These foster mothers live with the girls, play with the girls and treat them as their own children. They receive training by child psychologists, social workers and educators on how to deal with the girls at each stage of their development.
Medical Care
The Foster home has a medical clinic run by a physician and a resident qualified nurse. There is also a drug store (pharmacy) with enough supply of basic drugs and baby milk. In case of emergency or need for specialized medical care, the girls are referred to MUST Hospital for appropriate treatment. The clinic will shortly be developed into a specialized outpatient clinic for children of 6 October City.

Accommodation

Foster girls live in nicely-decorated and well-furnished flats. Each flat consists of three bedrooms, a large hall, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Two rooms in each flat are allocated for girls and the third one is for foster mothers. Two-to-three girls (depending on the age) share the same room; each having her own bed and cupboard. The hall is wall-to-wall carpeted and used as a living room and play area.

Education

Every effort is exerted to create a healthy and rich environment for the girls to grow and blossom. Up to the age of three, they spend their time with their foster mothers playing, listening to stories and watching television and video children programs. They use the rich resources of the library and play areas. When they reach the age of three, they join a nursery school run by the Foundation. At the age of 5 – 6 they join the primary schools with other kids of their age. After finishing high school, they will be granted scholarships to join the college of their choice at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST).
